Understanding Trauma and Its Effects

Trauma can manifest in various ways, from physical pain and tension to emotional distress and anxiety. We recognize that trauma is a complex and deeply personal experience, and we tailor our approach to meet your individual needs.

Calming the Nervous System with Vagus Nerve Interventions

The vagus nerve is a key pathway in your nervous system, influencing your body's stress response and emotional regulation. When trauma occurs, the vagus nerve can become dysregulated, contributing to anxiety, digestive issues, and difficulty managing emotions. Our therapists utilize gentle techniques to support vagus nerve function, promoting a sense of calm and improving your body's ability to regulate itself.

Dr. Brandie has changed my life. I was hesitant to see her at first for dry needling/work on my spine and scar tissue that I had from a traumatic car accident (that left me in a coma.) After three sessions I can now take a full belly breath, have feeling in my lower abdomen, and she helped me face my fear of needles. She’s professional, knowledgeable, and kind. You can tell she not only loves what she does, but she cares deeply about each of her patients. (Plus, the Ghirardelli chocolate in the waiting room are a nice touch 👌🏼)
